Hawkeye…

We Love Superheroes Week 3

So….Superheroes….shewww…I’m not really “into” them. I don’t have a favourite. Somehow they always have to go off and save the world. And I soooo wish for a happy end…but they never properly get the girl. No time for that when you need to chase after villains and such. Although, hmmmm, come to think of it (and contradicting myself in the process), there is one Superhero (can he even be classified a Superhero?) who kind of grabs my attention…Hawkeye. But…only The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron version because I don’t know any other one.

I happened to be watching The Avengers one day, purely because it was on TV and I didn’t feel like looking for the remote to change the channel. Staring into, or almost through, the screen at nothing really ….wowww….who’s that….??? I have a weakness for archers…there’s something elegant about them.  They’re just so sexy dependable. Accurate. There’s a certain style. And they never miss the mark (tee hee).

Oh well…I’ll just carry on be shallow now…what’s wrong with that once in a while, right? So…that outfit. There’s something about it. Oh my…just look at him…

Moving along…

Possibly the reason I “like” Hawkeye aka Clint Barton is because he doesn’t really come across as a Superhero. More like he’s just a really good archer who’s super fit. He seems more “realistic” than the rest. Like a normal person. One who doesn’t seem to be keeping up with the egos and attention seeking. Does he even have a super power as such? Sorry if I’m totally ignorant but I’m taking this all from watching the two movies mentioned earlier.

Then…he’s the only Superhero I know of who actually gets the girl. He gets to marry her. Yes, he still goes of on saving-the-world missions but he at least has an opportunity to settle down. To have a little bit of a relationship that could just work.

Oh alright, fine, the actor taking on this role has a teeny tiny bit to do with me liking Hawkeye. I wasn’t familiar with Jeremy Renner roles (or should I say, I didn’t really notice him in movies) until The Avengers and from there he “grew on me”. I’ve subsequently seen more Jeremy Renner roles and quite enjoy him.

hawkeye

I’m still not sure if Hawkeye classifies as a Superhero, but he’s on the good team isn’t he? And, if nothing else, I had fun ogling out the pictures to accompany this post. Now off to be all grown-up and serious again.

Oh, head on over to Hamlette’s Soliloquy (here) for some more Superhero Week fun.

  1. I’ve decided to call him hawkeye because I hate the name clint barton, but I definitely like hawkeye as a character even if he has no super powers. I also didn’t know about him until I saw the movies so yeah, Jeremy Renner definitely makes the character likable. I see hawkeye as the strong silent type that knows just what to do and isn’t afraid to act. that’s superhero to me – someone who does right and doesn’t try to act like a hero.

    have a lovely day.
